About The Founder
In 1999 Tanya Manyweathers was inspired to become a Christian Counselor. And the vision was to establish and develop a violence prevention program and a clinical center to address the needs of wounded individuals and their families. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Frostburg State University in 1979 she went on to pursue a Master’s of Social Work (MSW) degree from Howard University in 2002. Currently, Tanya Manyweathers is credentialed as a Licensed Certified Social Worker, Clinical, LCSW-C for the purposes of Psychotherapy. She has spent more than 30 years working in the field of child welfare after her employment with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). While at the FBI she worked in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC). Although, the FBI provided meaningful work and was enriching, she left the FBI to pursue her passion in working with families and children. Her experiences encompasses several agencies. She began her endeavor through her employment with The Methodist Board of Child Care, Baltimore City Department of Social Services, (Child Welfare Division), Families and Children Services of Central Maryland, The Arrow Project, which was a residential treatment center and diagnostic center for adolescents, Turnaround, Inc. who treated sexual assault, domestic violence survivors, and human sex trafficking survivors. Currently she is serving as the Clinical Director and Psychotherapist for Renewing Your Mind Counseling Center where she have been for the past six years. Receiving the call to ministry in 2004, Tanya Manyweathers became licensed as a Minister of the Gospel in 2011. To further her passion and life pursuit, Mrs. Manyweathers continues to grow Renewing Your Mind Counseling Center to meet the needs of hurting and wounded individuals.
